Boomtown
Program Note
Boomtown is an adaptation of the seventh movement to my Star-Spangled Variations, a collection of eight short pieces for solo violin based on The Star-Spangled Banner. The seventh variation is also the fastest one, written in the style of an old fiddle reel, bursting with energy and quintessential American flavors.
Premiere
Boomtown premiered in Sugar Land, Texas on December 7, 2023, and was performed by the Dulles High School Honors Orchestra conducted by Michael Isadore.
